50-Word Review- 2000AD-PROG 1955- A Wake-Up Call to the People of the UK (10/10)

What the Tharg happened to 2000AD? All of a sudden it’s woken up, realised that it’s 2015, recognised that we are living in a neo-liberal political consensus Police state, and decided to start talking about it. I’m shocked, and very, very happy. Judge Dredd//Islands (by Michael Carroll) is excellent. If you want to know how a Police state really operates, and how it indoctrinates and uses vulnerable children, then you have to get this book. The other stories also have a lot to say about the hidden nature of reality in a 2015 UK where the mainstream media delivers rancid turds to the public whilst telling them that they are eating caviar. That’s a metaphor, by the way. We live in a world of lies, and the more they lie to us, the more willing we are to accept their lies as truth. 2000AD is making one heck of a statement this week, and that statement is HEY UK. WAKE THE HELL AND SMELL THE BLOODY TYRANNY THAT YOU ARE LIVING IN. This is excellent news for reality obsessed truth nuts like myself, and I couldn’t be happier to give this book a very rare (for me) but much deserved, 10/10. Get this book NOW!!!! It’s essential.

Comic book reviews: Justice Inc #6 & Winterworld #7- ‘Policedar’ special

The following two reviews are ‘Policedar’ reviews. That is a term invented by myself, and invented just one minute ago. A ‘Policedar’ review is a review that will expose any subtle Police state message that is hiding within an entertainment (music/television/movie/comic book) text. I don’t hate the Police, but you have to understand the reality that the Police are always the actual, physical, flesh and blood people who enact new world order/globalist policies that enslave us all. The order following boys and girls in uniform create the global Police state, not the be-suited politicians and the shadowy cabals that operate behind the scenes to manipulate society. It’s the Police who actually build the prison, so ‘Policedar’ is the word that I will be using, and yes, it’s a take on the word ‘Gaydar,’ a word very much in the popular vernacular right now. These reviews will briefly discuss the artwork, narrative and other aspects of the text, but their main concerns will be any Police state issues within that text.



Policedar review no 1- Justice Inc #6 (Dynamite Comics)

This book concludes the end of a very confusing run where month by month it was almost impossible to understand what was going on. The script was incredibly convoluted with far too many characters and organisational names and time travel shenanigans going on, and if you read it on a monthly basis without reference to the previous books then you would be hopelessly lost and confused with what was happening. This is annoying, very annoying, and so I’m not going to miss the book. The art was a bit static, and the characters (apart from The Shadow) blended into each other far too much, making it even more confusing.

The villains were the Nazi’s, and the heroes were independent, wealthy men. This ties into the myth that the rich are there to help the poor innocent, helpless civilian-suspects, and that capitalism is your friend, not your enemy, so in that sense it’s an old fashioned, right-leaning book, not one for the Collectivist, Socialist, Marxists who tend to write most of the mainstream comic books these days. One thing to note is that despite it being a time travel book the latest event that it dealt with was one small panel of the exploding towers on 9/11. Nothing post that event in 2001 (that is over thirteen years ago now) was discussed. In that sense it was another book playing it very, very safe and making sure that it didn’t do anything to upset the current corporate/banking/permanent war status quo of the elite’s that control the political system and mainstream media in 2015. I enjoyed the cover-art, and I appreciated that the Shadow was singled out as the most interesting character in the book, but the plot as a whole was far too intricate, it didn’t deal with contemporary concerns, and it left very little impact on me as a whole. Rating: 3/10


Policed review no 2- WinterWorld #7 (IDW Comics)

This book comes from the ‘right-wing’ point of view, as far as socio-political commentary goes, but it focuses on independent ‘normal’ people rather than rich industrialists like Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark or all of the heroes in Justice Inc. The main protagonists don’t rely on the state, and they are not a part of the corporate status quo/control system because in this post-apocalyptic freezing cold world there is no state, and no corporate elite’s to belong to. I classify them as ‘right-wing’ because they are independent people who do not belong, and do not want to join a collectivist/leftist commune of deluded Animal farm hippie types. They are tough, self-sufficient, independent and free, and that is why I like them.

This issue is the end of a run, and the last time we’ll see the amazing artwork of artist Tomas Giorello on the title. The title returns in February and March 2015 with two prequel books that feature the main two protagonist’s early days, before they met, and before Winterworld became what it is today. Hopefully they won’t be as bad as those never to be mentioned Star Wars prequels, because this has been a good book, with strong male and female characters, and no Police state nonsense to spoil it all. This issue featured a fight, a team-up, and the action will continue. It was good, the message of independence and self-sufficiency was just what we need to see more of in comics, and the art, by the wonderfully talented Mr Giorello was fantastic. If I see the name ‘Chuck Dixon’ on a title I’ll buy the book, not because I know that he’ll write fascinating characters and a well crafted, exciting story, but because he doesn’t do the feminist liberal nonsense that has contaminated most of the other comic book writers working in the industry today. Rating: 8/10

Comic review: Green Lantern Corps #38- Chairman Mao would love this one

Green Lantern Corps #38 is introducing a new story arc, so there are a couple of questions bubbling underneath the simplistic surface narrative. It’s trying to intrigue you, trying to get you hooked. But for me the most important thing about the book is that the structural framing to the narrative is full of the usual assumptions that you get in a mainstream corporate/globalist comic book today.

Flying around the galaxy to help poor victim-suspect-civilians.

It’s the same old things, the same old nonsense that I moan about all of the time here on my blog, so I’ll keep this review short. Frankly, it deserves neither my time, nor yours.

Okay, the structural framing devices. It’s your standard Police state assumptions.

The book starts with some army cult drilling, repeat slogan, repeat that you are the good guy, now go out into the world and Police it for the good old neo-liberal value systems that we all adhere to. Protect the poor innocent civilians. Centralised governmental systems are there to help you. Lawbreakers are bad. Drugs are bad (but only the illegal ones), now let’s fly around the universe to protect people.

No thinking is allowed, no agendas are involved. It’s all about the rule of law. Who is making the law? It doesn’t matter, just follow your orders and uphold arbitrary laws that you don’t need to morally inspect for yourselves to have true, individual moral responsibility for your actions. Put on your uniform, and get to work.

All of the good guy characters in this book are order following soldiers/police. A female order follower just wants to protect her children. Not from government, of course. Government is good. She’s going to protect the children (public) from drug dealers. Isn’t she a good person? Errr no, she’s an order follower. But weren’t the Nazi’s good order followers as well? Yes, they were, but don’t mention that, and so the wheels of the comic book ignorance machine continues to turn and the global Police state is welcomed with opened arms.

Do you see how it works? Is writer Van Jensen a secret member of the illuminati then? No, he is not. He’s just a jobbing writer, more interested in the story than his themes, and if he continues to produce Police state supporting work like this he’ll continue to be employed in mainstream comic books. That’s how it works. No conspiracy, just a career, and an exciting narrative where the police state agents help the poor innocent intergalactic civilians who cannot help themselves.

No more Green Lantern Corps books for this reader. I’ve already wasted far too much of my time on this. I don’t hate the book, and I’m sure that Van Jensen will assemble an exciting narrative journey as the story progresses, but I don’t need to read further confirmation of statist assumptions that you get in the mainstream corporate whore media.

I don’t care if the story is exciting, or whether or not the characters have interesting or difficult times. A book that frames itself around unquestioning support for statism and the Police state has nothing to offer for somebody like myself.

Let me make this clear. Green Lantern Corps #38 is not a bad comic, the art is functional, and the structure of the story is well thought out, giving the reader a delicious hint at the close of the book that things might not be what they seem on the surface. That’s good story-telling, but I don’t want to read about agents of the Police state, so sorry, it’s not for me.

Hand it out to young police or army cadets. This book is for them. It will feed into their delusions of heroism, and make them eager to put on the uniform and get out there and start obeying some orders and protecting the poor innocent victim/civilian-suspects who cannot help themselves. That’s it, no more words. If you like centralised control systems with order following agents unquestioningly serving their masters then get the book, if you don’t like that Chairman Mao, communist world-view, then don’t.

Rating: 3/10 (must-read book for fans of centralised control systems)

Comic review: Criminal Macabre- The Third Child #3- Getting to grips with the character of Cal McDonald

I always attempt to get to grips with the underlying societal assumptions and fears that are sitting just underneath the narrative content in my comic books. I find it interesting; informative is probably a better word for it. If I can understand where the writer is coming from I can use the review as a tool, as a platform to discuss bigger issues than just comic books.

To put it simply, I try to look at the bigger picture. What is this comic book saying about the world that I live in? That is why I am writing these reviews in the first place.

I couldn’t really get to grips with Steve Nile’s character of Cal McDonald, but after reading this latest issue of Criminal Macabre- ‘The Third Child’ #3, I’m pretty comfortable with who he is, and what he represents now.

Looking back at it now I can see that the character was a bit fuzzy to me because he was always portrayed as a rebel, but whenever I read what he actually did he didn’t come across as even slightly rebellious to me. It was all surface rebellion, drink and drugs and a poseur cool air of aloofness, but what he was actually doing was acting like a television programme Police detective, helping the poor defenceless people against various monsters and what not.

So here is Cal McDonald, a rebel, but not really a rebel. A pretend rebel, a poseur hipster rebel with a fantastic haircut. A man very much a part of the system, working for it, but pretending even possibly to himself, that he is an outsider, when evidentially he isn’t.

In this particular comic he comes across as just another typical order following statist control freak little boy with daddy issues who thinks that the world is chaotic, and that you need people in uniforms and with badges to stop the stupid masses from descending into riots and chaos. I’m not going to use the ‘anarchy’ word, because statist types often misuse it. Anarchy means freedom from rulers, freedom from slavery, freedom from state control. Anarchy is a philosophy of freedom, and the enemy of all poseur rebels who at heart are just scared little boys and girls with parental abandonment issues, much like the character of Cal McDonald in Criminal Macabre.

If Cal McDonald was a real life person he’d be wearing a black uniform and working for the state. He would be living a life of fear, believing that he was a fascinatingly complex rebellious man because he had daddy issues and took drugs and drank too much whiskey. This kind of man is not a hero, he is an establishment tool, to be used, abused and spat out when no longer useful to his controllers. He is, to briefly quote Morrissey, ‘the soldier who won’t get much older.’

And now I understand why I had problems with the character in the first place. Cal McDonald is a fake rebel, a man who has made the world what it is today by joining the corporate control system, trying to work through his abandonment issues by using violence against those who are truly rebellious and fighting against it.

In other words, he's a drugged up, alcoholic cop. Not a hero, just another corporate yes man pretending to be a rebel. In this book he is pushed as a leader, a special man who will stop the chaos, stop the street riots and maintain the status quo of societal slavery. Of course he is going to be pushed as a role model, as a leader, because that’s what he is. That is what he represents. Cal McDonald is a poster boy for police state control freaks.

Look at the front cover on this book. Cal McDonald, a black uniformed angelic cop with a baseball bat, surrounding by protesters (portrayed as monsters) fed up with the corporate state, he is going to defend it to the death with violence.

Drink up Cal. Take some pills. The state needs fake rebels just like you. You prop it up. You are the backbone of world state controlled slavery.

Without people like Cal McDonald the slavery system collapses. They take drugs and drink too much because thinking with clarity would make them realise that they are not the solution, they are the problem.

If I wanted to sell a lot of copies of Criminal Macabre do you what I’d do? I’d set up a stall just outside a Police station and give a special ‘Heroes’ discount to all Policemen, soldiers, social workers, parole officers, court wardens, judges and administrators and everybody else who gets their wages from the corporate police state. They’d love this book. They wouldn’t know why, but they’d get a huge kick out of it.

Here's a truth. Government employees are messed up people, and I am not one of them. I don’t want to join their weird control freak cult of government worship. Cults are for crazy, lost, messed up people, and just because they are state sanctioned cults that doesn't mean that they are any better for you than some bloke in the mountains who thinks that he is Jesus.  It’s time I said goodbye to Cal McDonald. I’m a real-life rebellious guy. I'm into individuality and freedom, and there's nothing happening here for me.

Rating: 5/10 (It made me think, and the art/colour is very good)

In a corporate Police state that hides its true nature under the illusion of ‘democracy’ the Police, army and numerous government bureaucrats have to be portrayed as heroes.

These order following men and women are the very people who help maintain the current state of human slavery, not the tiny number of billionaires who own and control them. That is why they have to be glorified, made into demi-gods, made into heroes.

The mainstream media’s role is to produce propaganda that glorifies the corporate Police state. They will make the viewers believe that left is right, and up is down, but only if it serves the interests of the corporate elites.

Their purpose is to mislead, distract, and control. That is what they do, and they do it very well.

Peter Parker? Nope, it's Flash. 

They lie to you because that is their job.

Mainstream media propaganda is an extremely powerful weapon for the handful of families that own this planet. Do it correctly and the slave will actually be grateful for his condition of slavery. He will worship his master, and never, ever want to be free. Do it really well and he won’t even see the prison, and will laugh and scoff at anybody that points it out to him. After all, how can he want to be free when he doesn’t even realise that he is living in a cage?

Any reality on corporate mainstream media would expose the very owners of the media groups as the duplicitous autocratic cartel of slave masters that they actually are. Therefore, no reality is allowable on television. I’m not being particularly smart here. I’m just stating facts that we already know.

Only a bumbling, stumbling moron would watch one of their television ‘programmes’ recognise it as the Police state propaganda that it is, and then go onto the Internet and complain about it on his blog.

I admit it, but I’m not going to waste too much of my time on ‘The Flash.’ It’s a superhero show where the heroes are the Police and the villains are muggers and bank robbers. Thank God for the Police. Without them we would be experiencing an epidemic of muggings and bank robberies every day of the week. Wouldn’t we? Thankfully the good old Police are there to protect us helpless victims, err I mean civilians, and everything is right with the world.

Err, except, that it’s not.

The Police are not there to protect and serve us. They are there to control us. It’s called a ‘Police state’ for a reason, not a politician state, or a banker state. The Police are the attack dogs of the corporate masters. They obey orders and smash all dissent, all by the letter of the law. See Nazi Germany and the Occupy movement for recent examples. I’m not stating my own personal opinions here, and I do not hate on people because I have some sort of personal grudge. All I’m doing is stating reality, and if you think that comic books are more important than reality then you are already beyond help.

But back to the silly little cop show. The Flash might as well be Peter Parker/Spiderman. He has girl problems, is traumatised by a family death, is very smart, attractive, young, and he is a cop, so a good guy.

The narrative was typical cop show stuff. Not interesting at all. Comic book fans will enjoy the references to comic book stuff (Gorilla Grodd) but it’s just another in a long, long line of hero cops saving helpless victims show. Remember viewers, you are a victim, you cannot help yourself. Wait for the uniforms. Wait for those in positions of authority to help/arrest you.

See I told you I wasn’t going to waste too much of my time on what is ultimately just another pointless television show.

My summary: It’s a statist, corporate Police state show, with a young, powered up protagonist to make it all look cool to the children watching at home.

It’s a show that glorifies ignorance, apathy and the New World order.

It teaches children that goons in uniforms are gods and that the biggest problem in the banking sector is bank robbers.

Why rob a bank in a mask when you can do it in a suit and tie? Rob a bank in a mask and the Police will try to kill you. Rob it in a suit and they will protect you.

Oh, was I talking about reality again?

Sorry about that.

As for Flash, the super contemporary, super-smart television ‘programme’ for good little slaves?

Go on, knock yourselves out.

Rating: 2/10 (Because the acting is okay, and at least Flash has a good relationship with his Dad and that’s rare in new world order dramas today).
